AppZaddy Privacy Policy

AppZaddy ("we", "our", or "the extension") is a Chrome extension that analyzes LinkedIn job listings to help you evaluate fit, compensation, and company quality. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and how it is protected.

1. Information We Collect

• Account information: Your email address and a hashed password when you register.
• Resume data: Text content of resumes you voluntarily upload, used solely to compute job fit scores.
• Job preferences: Desired compensation, remote preference, and location preferences you enter.
• Job listing data: Publicly visible job details (title, company, description, location, salary) read from LinkedIn pages you visit while the extension is active.
• Google OAuth token: An encrypted OAuth token if you choose to connect a Google Sheet, used only to write job records to your chosen spreadsheet.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To generate AI-powered job fit scores and company research summaries.
• To save job analysis results to your connected Google Sheet (only if you opt in).
• To personalize analysis based on your resume and preferences.
• We do not sell, share, or rent your data to any third parties.

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored in a secured cloud database. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and never stored in plain text. Google OAuth tokens are encrypted at rest using AES-256 (Fernet). Authentication uses signed JWT tokens.

4. LinkedIn Data

AppZaddy reads publicly visible job listing information from LinkedIn pages you actively browse. We do not scrape LinkedIn in the background, store browsing history, or collect any data beyond the specific job page you are currently viewing.

5. Google Sheets Integration

If you connect a Google Sheet, AppZaddy uses your OAuth token only to append job records to the spreadsheet you designate. We do not read any other spreadsheets or Google account data.

6. Third-Party Services

• Anthropic Claude API — used to analyze job descriptions. Job text is sent to Anthropic for processing under their privacy policy.
• Google Custom Search API — used for company research queries.
• Railway — cloud hosting provider for our backend.

7. Data Retention

Your account and associated data are retained as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us.

8. Children's Privacy

AppZaddy is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy periodically. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
